About Expedition World Cycle
About
The main aim of the world cycle expedition is to complete continuous world cycle starting and ending at Glasgow whilst forming the largest cycle team in the world. (See Team Challenge 5 for more details)
Commonwealth Countries Visited
The route will visit the following commonwealth nations: Scotland, England, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Belize, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Method of Transport
All 20,000 miles of the route will be covered by bicycle. Flights will be used at four location (Singapore, Sydney, Auckland and Belmopan) and ferries at various points.
Six Stages of Expedition World Cycle
Stage 1. Race to New Delhi
Start/Finish - Glasgow (Scotland) to New Delhi (India)
ETA - 14 October 2010 for end of Delhi 2010 commonwealth games.
Stage 2. Explore Commonwealth Asia
Start/Finish - New Delhi (India) to Bali (Indonesia)
ETA - Late December 2010
Stage 3. Explore Commonwealth Oceania
Start/Finish - Perth (Australia) to Auckland (New Zealand)
ETA- Late February 2011
Stage 4. Race Across the Americas
Start/Finish - Vancouver (Canada) to Belmopan (Belize)
ETA- Late April 2011
Stage 5. The road home from Europe
Start/Finish - Madrid (Spain) to Calais (France)
ETA- Mid May 2011
Stage 6. Explore Commonwealth UK
Start/Finish - Dover (England) to Glasgow (Scotland)
