The Expedition

Edinburgh to Barcelona - This was Sean's first cycle expedition. The idea came after having a few too many beers and suggesting taking on the John O'Groats to Lands End route. This idea quickly spiralled out of control until Barcelona ended up being the random place to aim for.
During this trip he experienced the worst storm of his life. For a moment "I thought I was going to die". Hence the expedition being christened 'Riders of the storm'. After completing the 1400 mile adventure crossing the Pyrenees he made it to Barcelona.
Throughout the journey he learnt the hard way about the importance of bicycle maintenance and having the appropriate tools. He had his first ever police escort. This was when running down a extremely busy motorway pushing his broken bike due to a lack of tools. He was pick pocketed, though was quickly reunited with his wallet after chasing the man down. He found a new country that he never knew existed (Andorra). He had the pleasure of sharing his food with rats in the cheap hotel in Barcelona. Overall he had an amazing experience.
From then on he was hooked on cycle expeditions. This was only the beginning.
