The Expedition

This expedition led to the genesis of the Commonwealth Challenge. It was without doubt the least planned expedition to date. It was ten days prior to the start of the journey that Sean decided to take on the challenge of trying to cycle to Everest Base Camp. This explains why the expedition got off to the worst start at the airport. A lack of an Indian visa delayed the trip by four day.
During this expedition he spent a night in the jail, had run-ins with wildlife on a regular basis, got lost in the Himalayas, chased by dogs, a blessing from a priest, a bad crash and a severe mechanical failures that finished the dream of cycling to EBC.
So a new plan was made and a 100km trek in the Himalayas became the plan b. It was during the trek that the 'Himalayan dream' formed. This idea was to visit all of the commonwealth nations involved with Glasgow 2014.
